How to transcribe Hindi with Vibe

  1. Install Vibe from the download page.
  2. Download a multilingual Whisper model sized for your computer—often Medium is a good anchor.
  3. Set language to hi for more consistent results than auto-detect.
  4. Import your file (or use supported URL flows if you use them).
  5. Export to SRT, TXT, DOCX, or another format you need.

Accuracy notes

Hindi transcription with Vibe works excellently with the Medium or Large model. Hindi uses Devanagari script and Vibe outputs the transcript in native Devanagari characters. For Romanized Hindi (Hinglish), set language to 'auto' and use the Large model.

The Medium model achieves approximately 6–9% WER on clean Hindi speech. The Large model improves this to ~4–6% WER.

Common use cases

Transcribe Bollywood interviews, Hindi podcasts, Zoom meetings, WhatsApp voice notes, and Indian news broadcasts.
