Download Vibe Transcribe — free for Windows, Mac & Linux

Vibe Transcribe is free to download — no account or payment. This page explains what to download, how installation usually works, and how to pick a first Whisper model. Latest version referenced on this site: v3.0.19 (check the releases page for the newest build).

Download for Windows

Run the .msi installer. If Windows Defender shows a warning, click 'More info' → 'Run anyway'. This is a false positive common with open-source apps.

Download for macOS

Download the .dmg file. Right-click and select Open if macOS Gatekeeper blocks it on first launch.

Available as AppImage. Run: chmod +x Vibe*.AppImage && ./Vibe*.AppImage

Windows

  1. Download the .msi from GitHub releases.
  2. If SmartScreen appears, choose “More info” then “Run anyway” when you trust the source.
  3. Finish the installer, open Vibe, and download a model when prompted.

macOS

  1. Download the .dmg, drag Vibe into Applications.
  2. On first open, use right-click → Open if Gatekeeper blocks the app.
  3. Open Vibe and download a model from settings.

Linux

  1. Download the .AppImage.
  2. Run chmod +x Vibe*.AppImage then ./Vibe*.AppImage.
  3. Download a model inside the app.

Which Whisper model should you download first?

After install, Vibe needs at least one Whisper model. Most people should start with Small for a good balance of speed and quality. See the full comparison on the models guide.
